PROJECT INDIGO: LANDMARKS
The first landmark dropped randomly to the holder of wastelander #830 on Jan 26, on chain, via a smart contract. The contract selected a wastelander ID at random (excluding those listed on custodial marketplace) and sent the NFT to the winner.
This first piece features the foreboding approach to the gates of the Reach and will appear in the first chapter of our upcoming interactive story. Congratulations!
- Owning a landmark is like owning a piece of real estate in the wasteland. Taxes collected in the form of TOX will be available to the owner.
- Future landmarks will accompany each interactive story chapter as they are released. They will be distributed via a mix of free airdrop, TOX raffles, Discord events, and auction formats. One will become available with each story chapter. These 1/1 pieces will be part of a slowly growing collection.
STATUS: Live, and growing!
TOX UTILITY: Own Landmarks to earn, Spend TOX to enter to win a Landmark (future)
TOX & EXPERIENCE POINTS (XP)
Wanderer, TOX is the only currency accepted in the wasteland. The United States Dollar is nothing but a memory of a memory…
- TOX will have high utility within our ecosystem. It is planned to be spendable on the ability to mint upcoming NFTs — equipment, relics, Act 2 PFPs, landmarks, etc — and to be spent on future gameplay elements in-world, such as at the Haven club. Read on to find out more about some of these concepts.
- TOX will be at launch a web2 currency system, attached to your Hiro wallet and Discord user name, with a ledger / history of all transactions publicly visible to all. It will not be a web3 fungible token or listed on exchanges at this time, however it may be able to be sent to another wallet in the future. TOX is a gameplay reward element, and will not have financial value or be tied to currency values.
- Web2 implementation allows us to deliver a faster, more fully featured, and flexible user experience within our game ecosystem. Moving to a web3 token for TOX is a potential long term opportunity.
- You’ll be able to view your TOX balance on our website and in our Discord.
- TOX will be gained by engaging with the story, gameplay features, holding Project Indigo NFTs, and participating in special Discord events.
- Experience Points (XP) will reflect the total amount of lifetime TOX earned via gameplay and discord elements. Players will never lose XP, even if TOX is spent. XP will be used for leaderboards and potentially prizes, leveling up, or other features down the road.
STORY MODE
The first chapter of our interactive story is planned to be released in February. It will offer the first opportunity for players to use their NFTs actively within the wasteland.
- Chapters will tell a story set in our world, over the course of an Act.
- Players must connect a wallet with a wastelander in it in order to use Story mode. It will be beneficial to keep all Project Indigo NFTs in the same wallet so that TOX potential is maximized.
- Dialogue will be professionally voice acted.
- Interacting with the dialogue in the story will allow players to converse with the animated main characters and get to know the world of Project Indigo.
- Some dialogue options (and resulting TOX bonuses) will only be available to holders of NFTs with certain traits. Many types of traits, including common and “simple” traits will be rewarded at some point during the Act. There will not be a heavy emphasis on combat traits for Story mode. Keeping all Project Indigo NFTs in the same wallet will allow for the best experience. The entire wallet will “count.”
- Players will choose the direction of the story by voting on one of two directions for the next story path at the end of each chapter. The story will progress along the path most voted for. More wastelanders in the wallet will allow for more voting power, up to certain thresholds.
- Participating in voting (whether your vote “won” or not) will result in TOX gain. More wastelanders in the same wallet will allow for more TOX gain, up to certain thresholds.
- Chapters will release approximately every two weeks.
- Guest NFTs will be incorporated into the story and give a small bonus, if held in wallet during the chapter where they appear. Planned guests so far include Megapont Apes, Wasteland Apes, Stacks Parrots, and Bitcoin Monkeys. You will still need a Project Indigo wastelander, as well, to enter Story Mode.
TOX UTILITY: Play to earn.
STATUS: Content, art, design, complete. Voice acting and coding in progress (60%). Estimated release in February.
RAIDS
Raids will run on demand and outside of the Story mode. Raids will pit your party against the perils of the wasteland, in search of reward.
- The player will form a party of 3 wastelanders from their collection. Each wastelander will have a base raid power which falls within a given range. The base raid power is the same for all wastelanders.
- Traits, including armor, weapons, and a few others (to be announced) will modify the base raid power with bonus raid power. Bonus power will vary from trait to trait.
- Guest NFTs may be used in Raids as an optional 4th party slot. Guests will provide a small bonus to Raid power. Guest Raiders planned include Megapont Robots and Bitcoin Monkeys. You will still need at least one wastelander to start a raid.
- The party will face various encounters during a raid, with difficulty having a chance to increase each time. Each round, players will attack the monster first. If they succeed, the monster is defeated and the round ends in victory. If they fail, the monster attacks and the round ends in defeat. The first round will be relatively easy for a party to defeat without much in the way of bonus traits. After each round, the party will be given the option to range further out or to return home.
- Ranging further increases the reward, but also the difficulty of the next battle. A defeat means losing rewards gained thus far. Returning home ensures what has been found already will be kept, but ends the raid. The choice is yours.
- Wastelanders will have a cooldown period before they can participate in a raid again. The cooldown may vary depending on whether the party was defeated or not. It will not be possible in any case to immediately enter a new raid right away with the same wastelanders, though it will be possible to select a different set of wastelanders and raid with them.
- More details will be shared after the launch of Story mode.
TOX UTILITY: Play to earn.
STATUS: Concept complete, art in progress, gameplay design in progress. Coding not started. Estimated release in March/April.
PROJECT INDIGO: EQUIPMENT SERIES I
Equipment will be made available as NFTS which can be added to Raid parties. It will be designed to expand the gameplay options and party power for Raids.
- Equipment will be sold in sealed NFT packs of 3 items. The packs can either be kept (and traded) sealed or they can be opened to reveal the 3 NFTs inside. You will need to have a Project Indigo wastelander in order to mint Equipment packs.
- A portion of equipment will be reserved for TOX only purchase (no STX or other costs for them)
- Packs will contain a variety of melee and ranged weapons and armor which can be used during a raid. The equipment will add to the bonus raid power for the party.
- Items will vary in the bonus raid power they provide. Some will be better than others. More common, lower power items will be available in larger quantities (example: 150 with the same art/name), and powerful items will be made available in lesser quantities (example: 5 with the same art/name).
- Some will be unique, named 1/1 equipment.
- Equipment raid bonus power will stack with wastelander trait raid bonus power.
- Each wastelander can carry one piece of equipment during a raid, so a raid party can carry up to three pieces of equipment.
- Upon the release of equipment, more (and more difficult) encounters will become available during raids. More combat options/strategy elements may also become available.
- Equipment will have a cooldown period before it can be used in another raid.
TOX UTILITY: Spend to buy sealed packs.
STATUS: Concept and art in progress. Estimated release in April/May.
